Nobody really knew what to expect of 2021 but it turned out to be a solid year of fishing for the anglers that made it onto the waters of Alaska. Fortunately, a lot that did get lines in the water also documented their fishing trip in vide. There are a lot of excellent videos from 2021 fishing trips but we thought the following few should be highlighted…they all show the excitement of fishing with friends and family while highlighting the great (and diverse) fishing of Alaska plus the remote wilderness that so many anglers seek. Enjoy these and remember to pack your camcorder (or, phone, I guess) for your Alaska fishing trip.

Overall Favorite: Fishing Wild Alaskan Creeks by Helicopter

We put this one at the top of the list because it has a lot of everything anglers like about Alaska. The great wilderness is seen from water level but also from a helicopter! Friends do a helicopter fly-in fishing trip to get expirience remote fishing in Alaska and they land some nice rainbow trout and dolly varden. Excellent video of friends getting on the fishing trip of a lifetime. An easy pick for our favorite Alaska fishing video of the year.

Peaceful & Remote: Fly Fishing for Arctic Grayling

Maybe it's because we just posted a blog about road tripping for arctic grayling, but this video stood out. It was filmed during this anglers' thousand-mile fishing trip on the state highway system. This video was filmed at the Gulkana River and he lands four or five really nice looking grayling in a video that shows how peaceful and remote an Alaskan fishing trip can be. Check out his other videos too!

Fishing & Nature: Young Angler Reeling in Some Nice Grayling Near Denali

Another grayling focused video this one highlights the great arctic grayling fishing naer Denali National Park! This one is on the list because of the great scenery Alaska provides …filmed near Denali National Park, it has a mountain range and moose that are the highlights, but the young angler lands a really nice grayling too. It's really everything one could hope for.

Great Excitement: Kid Ice Fishing Lands a Nice Pike

Sticking with fishing with kids …this is a great video! It's a quick one of a father and his five-year-old son doing some ice fishing in Alaska. The son's excitement is great to see as they pull out a pike that's just about as big as the angler!

Best Shore Fishing: Pink Salmon on Fly Rods

Man…I'm doing a great job connecting each This one sticks with the family theme as two brothers do some shore fly-fishing on the Kenai River. We included it because it's a video of a fish species that anglers don't really think about…Pink Salmon. The brothers land a few really nice ones and it reminded us that you have so many options when fishing in Alaska.

Can't Land Them All: Arctic Char Fishing from a Canoe

Another species that we don't write about often is Arctic Char. It's highlighted here by a couple doing some summertime fishing from a canoe…they have a few misses but also land a couple of really nice fish.

Well, that wraps up another year of us going into the fishing video wormholes. We hope the videos get you excited to look into your next fishing trip and gives you a good idea of what an Alaskan fishing trip can offer and the options available if you can get out there.
