The Kenai Peninsula is an angler's playground but given the fact that it is road connected from Anchorage means you are less likely to have that completely remote feel that many envision when they think of Alaska fishing. The beauty of visiting the Kenai Peninsula and fishing specifically the Kenai River is you have the more affordable option of fishing the world renown Kenai River and Kasilof River. You can also explore the many lakes and smaller streams the Kenai offers but you also have the ability to do a remote fly out day trip and experience locations that are not road accessible. These locations offer a much better chance to see bears and experience undisturbed waters with epic fishing potential. Many fly out trips also include incredible flightseeing opportunities including wildlife viewing from the air and flying over glaciers.

Most fly out destinations originate from the Kenai Peninsula and within 40 minutes drive from the town of Soldotna. Much like the Kenai Peninsula where different months offer different fishing opportunities throughout the summer, fly out trips and the species we target vary according to month and run timing. Fly out season begins in early June with sockeye salmon on the west side of Cook Inlet and typically target sockeye salmon until late July when silver salmon begin to arrive. Silvers offer a much wider spectrum of options as they inhabit many more systems than sockeye salmon do and thus the silver season opens up many more destinations to fish. Silvers run from late July into September with most systems seeing peak returns in mid August.
