I'm planning a trip to AK, to spin fish mainly for arctic char & rainbow trout. I've been to AK 4 times to spin fish. I'm a single (1 person) senior fisher. Maybe fly out from Anchorage. I spin fish only, and don't want to go where it's mainly fly fish emphasis. 4 to 5 days; budget around $5k, once I get to Anchorage. I'm not looking for large salmon. (up to ~~10 lbs is fine). I like to bring home ~~ 10 lbs of fillets.

Congrats on your return to Alaska to fish again!
If salmon are a focus of your trip in addition to trout and other species I would recommend late July through early August. During this time frame there will be multiple salmon species present as well as great trout fishing. There are great angling opportunities both north of Anchorage on the Parks Highway river systems and south on the Kenai Peninsula as well as some lodge options. A budget of around 5K opens up many options from hiring fishing guides to some lodges. Any true Alaskan guide or lodge shouldn't care how you fish whether fly or conventional as long as you adhere to the laws set forth by fish and game. As all rivers and lakes have and encourage both! Look into Riversong Lodge Walter is a great guy, runs a great operation and has very affordable package options. You want to spin fish, they will make that happen.
Riversong is at the mouth of Lake Creek, across the inlet from Anchorage, it is a wonderful river to fish.
