Denise Lake Lodge sits in the town of Soldotna in the Kenai River Valley. They offer freshwater fishing, drifting, and fly fishing for salmon and trophy rainbow trout. The lodge is nicely equipped and offers three square meals per day, including a packed lunch stream side refreshment.

The accommodations are comfortable. The lodge consists of a main building and out-cabins which include private baths. One of the main attractions for this lodge is the Friday Night Fish Fry. It is an outstanding way to stuff yourself full of amazingly fresh fish and socialize at the same time. If your heart is into fishing, then Denise Lake Lodge is a place to consider. The location alone puts it on the top ten list for great lodges.

Fishing with Denise Lake Lodge

All of the guided fishing trips with Denise Lake Lodge are for a full eight hours. They provide all of the gear you need even the waders and rain gear. Your guides are people with many years of fishing the local waters. They know the rivers, and they understand the fish. They also know how to help guests have the best fishing experience, regardless of the fishermen's skill level. When you pay for a trip to fish, Denise Lake Lodge includes the packing and boxing of 50 pounds worth of fish for your flight home.

What Kinds of Fish Will you find in the Kenai River Valley?

The big target is always the King salmon. The Chinook ( King Salmon) is literally the biggest species of Pacific Salmon. The silvers are here too and from August 1 through September 15 is the Silver Salmon Derby. There are also the massive rainbows and the Dolly Varden. These fish are amazing to fish for sports fishermen. They fight like mad. The Dolly Varden is smart too. It will snap your line if you are not on top of your game. There is a great deal of wonderful fishing in the Kenai River Valley.

The Denise Lake Lodge offers a lot to its' guests.

There are outdoor BBQs and pick nick tables so you can cook and enjoy what you catch. They have complimentary canoes that guests can use to explore the local area. There is even laundry facilities for the guests to use. If this is your first time to Alaska, remember to pack layers of clothing. Good Merino Wool base layers work best. The temperature here in the summer ranges from 50 degrees to 80. Being able to be warm in the morning and cool in the afternoon is important. You will also need to order your own fishing license and King salmon stamp. Your hosts Jim and Elaine have an outstanding lodge. It is well worth considering as your destination.
