Fishing along the Kenai River revolves around two things the first is King Salmon in the second is Pacific Halibut. Halibut are available May through September, but the Kings have a limited schedule and show up in early May and are gone by the end of July. The Kenya River is home to all five species of Pacific Salmon as well as Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden.

The most active fishing month along the Kenai River is July. That is when you have access to King Salmon Sockeye Salmon Rainbow Trout and Dolly Vardon.
