The Alaska Heavenly Lodge is a Cooper Landing favorite. It sits just one mile from the Kenai Lake Bridge and a gentle, beautiful 2.5-hour drive from Anchorage. This is the heart of the Kenai Peninsula and home to the famous Kenai River. The Alaska Heavenly Lodge is perfect for fishermen, honeymooners, corporate groups, and fishing groups. There are many Kenai River fishing lodges to choose from...what helps make Alaska Heavenly Lodge unique is it's not just a fishing lodge. In addition to fishing packages, they offer a wide variety of activities to choose from including rafting, horseback riding, hiking and they also host weddings & business retreats.
Fishing with the Alaska Heavenly Lodge
Cooper Landing sits along the upper Kenai River and is a perfect place for a Kenai Peninsula base. You are 1.5-2 hours away from Seward for Saltwater fishing, including Trophy Halibut, and 2.5 hours away from Homer, which is known as the Halibut Capital of the World.
If you want to try your hand at battling King Salmon then the best time is mid-May through the end of July. King Salmon Season closes by July 31 as the big Salmon reach their spawning grounds. A seasoned guide will know where these spots are and you can fish them for the big Trophy Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden which swim with the Kings. The time for Sockeye Salmon Fishing is from mid-July through mid-August. The big attraction besides King Salmon are the Silver Salmon with their tenacious fight and aerial displays. Silver Salmon is good from Late August through the end of October. If you want to fish for Silvers or Kings book early.
You cannot go wrong fishing on the Kenai River. This is a fisherman's haven and the Alaska Heavenly Lodge is a perfect place from which to explore and fish Alaska.
Lodging with the Alaska Heavenly Lodge
The main lodge offer hand-hewn log construction has a modern kitchen and a dining room that seats 16 guests at once. The remainder of the lodge is all about comfort with plenty of plush sitting areas, a loft library, and outdoors are BBQ units and picnic tables.
The Russian River Cabin is your play areas. It is equipped with a Jacuzzi, sauna and pool tables. There is ample space to explore along the private hiking trails. Guests enjoy the evenings around the fire pit and before dinner, there are plenty of opportunities for yard games.
Expect a well-run show with plenty of comfort in rooms that are comfortable, cozy, but not small, and warm.
