Fishing the Kenai Peninsula

There are a lot of options for fishing around the Kenai Peninsula. One cannot visit the area and not toss flies on the Kenai River. This is a world-class Salmon fishing river with a deep history of producing Trophy King Salmon. As majestic as that sounds, the King Salmon are only one of several species of worthy fish to via for here.

There are plenty of big Fish in both the Kenai River and the Kasilof Rivers. Expect big Rainbow Trout - 20 plus inches and on a good day for those to top the 30-inch mark. Expect big Dolly Varden Char in the 20-30 inch range. In addition to King Salmon, there are Silver Salmon in the 8-20 pound range, and this is where some of the largest Sockeye Salmon runs occur. If you hit the river mid-Sockey run, you might well see A million or more Sockeye swim past. Including a spring run of Steelhead on the Kasilof River.

Overall, expect a lot of great fishing and much large fish to battle.

Fishing with the Alaska on the Fly - Guides & Outfitters

Expect to fish with professional and certified guides with years of experience fishing both the Kenai River and the Kasilof River. Guides are what makes fishing in Alaska safe, exceptional, and addicting. Few people who fish here never return. The fish will keep you coming back.

Expect to fish in quality and clean boats that are comfortable and capable and with good quality fishing equipment. The only thing you need to bring is a fishing license, and if you plan to fish for King Salmon, you will need a King Salmon Stamp too.

If you want to the experience of a full day fishing big fish all day long, then this is a great choice for guides on the Kenai or Kasilof Rivers.
