Alaska's River Adventures sits between the town of Kenai and Seward in the Chugach National Forest. Guests are housed in individual log cabins. Guests can drive from Anchorage, or they can arrange to take a bush plane via the lodge. There is much opportunity here for fishermen as Alaska's River Adventures floats most of the Kenia River from Lake Kenai to Skilak Lake.

What Kind of Fishing Adventures Can Alaska's River Adventures Provide?

The lodge offers a variety of fishing packages, including an all Rainbow Trout package for those who love trout fishing. If you are more interested in experiencing most of the sports fish that Alaska is famous for, the lodge offers a multi-species fishing package. For the ultimate in adventures, guests have the option of exploring the Alaskan fishing scene by float plane, raft, or on foot. The lodge offers a sightseeing and fishing float plane package, hiking package, and even a variety of rafting packages. These guys put the venture in the adventure. Plus, guests have the option of focusing on fly fishing or you can use a spin caster set-up. The success of every fishing lodge boils down to the guides and Alaska's River Adventure Lodge has remarkable guides. These are professionals with a long history of the river. Expect expert advice, and a safe fishing, hiking, or rafting trip. Most of the guides have 30 or more years experience on the Kenai River. Smart Alaska fishermen and adventurers put that experience to work for them.

What is the Fishing Like with Alaska's River Adventures?

Fishing adventures are full day affairs and equate to eight - to - nines hours of on-the-water time. For salmon fishing, the lodge holds special permits that allow a very few number of fishermen to fish in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Enjoy Salmon, Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden fishing at its finest. Keep in mind that that the Alaskan record for King Salmon was made on the Kenai when some lucky fisherman landed a 126-pound salmon. Guests have the option of fishing in the Kenai Wildlife Refuge, the Kenai River Canyon, the Upper Kenai River, and the Kasilof River.

Rafting and Other Adventures

The lodge offers a full range of adventures. Their scenic rafting trips can be full or half day adventures that wind along the Kenai River. Part of the full day float brigade is a stop where guests can learn how to pan for gold. Hiking in Alaska is amazing. The lodge offers a partial day hiking adventure to the Russian River Falls. Along the way, you may view moose, bear, eagles and other wildlife that make Alaska their home. The falls are usually active with salmon leaping from the water and trying to swim up the water stream.

The bottom line here is talented guides on an amazing river makes for an excellent fishing adventure. Alaska does its part too. From the thick green forests to the fast flowing rivers the natural habitat that is Alaska shows. Expect to see wildlife, catch huge rainbows, salmon, and Dolly Varden. If you love to ski, then Alaska has snow, and the Alaska's River Adventure also has ski guides.
