Fishing with Alaskan Advantage

Most guests come to Sitka to fish for Pacific Halibut. This is a prime for Halibut and 100 plus pound fish are not uncommon. To give you an idea of what you face, a 150 pound Halibut is the size of a man. These flat bottom fish are prized for their size and for they way they taste.

Guests also have they option of fishing for King Salmon, which are the other monsters of the local waters. Expect King Salmon in the 20-40 pound range with a chance of landing a 50-70 pound fish. Also available are Silver Salmon, which are just plain fun to catch. It is not uncommon to also battle giant Ling Cod or catch any of the many Rock Fish that are near shore. The Kings are the earliest of the Salmon to group and prepare to head upstream. While they are here, they are gorging on food, and that means they are pretty easy to catch.

Alaskan Advantage is home to one of the most prolific Pacific Halibut Fisheries in all of Alaska.
