Have you been searching for a TRULY remote fly fishing destination? Alaskan Remote Adventures provides a world class fishing experience based out of their lodge on the Mulchatna River in Southwest Alaska. Located about 240 miles southwest of Anchorage, they are strategically located in an area of the Bristol Bay Watershed that provides world record salmon runs along with ample fly fishing and wading opportunities. Guests want to arrive in Anchorage the day before their scheduled trip date and spend the night. The next morning, you will take an hour flight from Anchorage to Iliamna. From there a float plane will transport guests to the Mulchatna, where the lodge is located (unless you are doing a float trip, in which case you are dropped at the beginning of your float)

The Fishing

The main fishing season runs from the end of July through the beginning of September. Targeted fish include Leopard Rainbow Trout, Arctic Grayling, Dolly Varden, Northern Pike and all 5 species of Pacific Salmon. (King Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Coho Salmon, Pink Salmon and Chum Salmon) Rainbow Trout, Arctic Grayling, Dolly Varden, and Northern Pike can be caught all season. July is geared towards King and Sockeye Salmon, while August hosts an abundant Silver (Coho) salmon run. The best time to come depends on which fish species the angler wants to target, as all summer provides incredible fishing opportunities. Your guide will customize your fishing experience based upon your skill level and style. We are geared towards fly fishing, but accommodate spin fisherman as well. Some of our anglers prefer to fish from the boat, while others prefer to wade along the seemingly endless gravel bars found along the main river and tributaries. All skill levels are welcome

The Lodging

Being the only established lodge on the Mulchatna River, you can expect a truly remote and peaceful fishing experience. The lodge only allows 8 guests a week to ensure that you have a custom tailored, quality Alaskan fishing trip. 2 guests occupy each room, which includes comfortable mattresses, a private bathroom and hot showers. Guests receive 3 meals a day which include hot breakfasts and lunches rotating between fresh salmon shore lunches and hot lunches back at the lodge. The guest favorite meal is our 3 course gourmet dinner consisting of main dishes like Prime Rib, Alaskan Halibut, Slow Cooked Ribs and Seafood Pasta. Non alcoholic beverages are included.
