Valhalla Lodge sits between Lake Clark and Lake Iliamna in the Bristol Bay drainage system. That might be a mouthful to say, but what is important is that this area is home to trophy sized Rainbow Trout and massive runs of Salmon each year.

The lodge is beautiful and consists of a main lodge that is full of features and out cabins. This lodge offers single or double occupancy. The rooms feature private bathrooms and shower and daily maid service. The main lodge has a pool table, library, dining room and lounge with a fly-tying table, all designed to offer the best vacation to fishermen. Meals here are awesome. They will deliver the hot beverage of your choice to your cabin followed by a full breakfast in the main lodge. Lunch is stream side and delicious. Dinner consists of three courses plus desert. You won't go away hungry.

Fishing with Valhalla Lodge

This is a freshwater fishing lodge. The focus on Salmon, Rainbows, Dolly Varden, and Grayling. Dolly Varden are char that are in the salmon family, like Rainbow Trout. These are beautiful fish with brilliant red, yellow, and orange dots set off against a dark background. Amazingly good to fish as they fight. The local waterways are also home to large Rainbow Trout, and the area is known for trophy rainbows that are 30 inches long and upwards of 18 pounds.

All five species of Pacific Salmon migrate up the local rivers. June is and into July is the best time for King Salmon. They migrate right by the lodge. The lodge also run a Nushagak River camp where over 100,000 kings swim past. July is when the rivers run red with Sockeye salmon. Their beautiful red coloring is amazing. The smaller streams become so thick with salmon that you can literally bend down and pick them up.

Fly Out Trips with Valhalla Lodge

Because the lodge sits between two massive national parks, the wildlife is much more accepting of humans. The Lake Clark National Park and the Katmai National Park are amazingly beautiful, and they support many rivers and smaller clear bottom streams that make amazing rich habitat grow trophy rainbows. Where you find Trophy Rainbows you find intense salmon activity. The rainbow feed on the salmon roe and grow to record lengths and weights. The lodge offers fly-outs to many of these fish-rich lakes and rivers. They also are capable of taking guests on one-day float trips so that you get to experience all that the river has to offer.

The Valhalla Lodge is a sportsman's paradise. With the quality lodging and the long list of standard and optional fishing trips, guests get to live their dream, and that is what makes Valhalla Lodge special.
