This is the river that currently holds the world record for the largest King Salmon caught by a sports fisher. Cooper Landing is an ideal location for anyone who wants experience all that the Kenai Peninsula has to offer.
Fishing with the BoatMan's Fly Fish 'n' Drift Guides
Guests of the Guide Service fish from 20-foot drift boats that are modern, safe, and comfortable. They focus on fly fishing, but you are welcome to fish with a spin caster reel too. The guides are professional and skilled, and they are happy to show you how to fish and to help you improve your fishing technique.
Expect to fish for King Salmon, Silver, Salmon, Chum Salmon, and Millions of Sockeye Salmon in addition to big, fat Rainbow trout -20-33 inches long, and big Dolly Varden Char too.
The Peak times for Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden are mid-June through mid-July and again from mid-August through mid-October. The reason for the break is the millions of Sockeye Salmon that flood the water from mid-July through mid-August
The Peak time for Sockeye Salmon is from mid-June through the end of June and then again from July 15-through mid-August.
The Peak times for Coho Salmon is from Late August through the end of October.
