The Rivers

The Kenai River is dynamic. The upper is fast-flowing and a place to drift or powerboat. The middle and lower sections are tamer. The Russian River is smaller and generally wadable, which makes it a beautiful place to moor the boat and Fish from the gravel bars. The Kasilof River is gorgeous and wild. Motors are not allowed on the Kasilof, so it is solely a floating river. One remarkable thing about the Kasilof is its fantastic runs of wild steelhead.

In the Upper Kenai and Middle Kenai, as well as the Russian and Kasilof Rivers, you have access to King Salmon, Silver Salmon, Chum Salmon, and Sockeye Salmon. On occasion, you may encounter the smallest of the five species of Pacific Salmon - The Pink Salmon. There are the Trophy-sized Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden Char too. In the lower sections of these rivers, you will also find Pink Salmon. Some of the best fishing for King and Silver Salmon are in the lower reaches of these Rivers.
