Deep Strike Sportfishing offers 8-10 hour fishing charters out of Homer Alaska. This is some of the best waters in the world both for Salmon fishing and Halibut fishing. Homer sits at the point of Cook's Inlet and the shallow waters of the inlet give way to deeper waters that are perfect for targeting Big Barn Door Halibut.

Fishing with Deep Strike Sportfishing

Guests of the charter fish from one of their two boats. The Irish Mist is 34' and holds 8 fishers with plenty of room for fishing. The Current Lady is 38' and holds ten fishers.

The charter provides everything  you will need to fish with the exception of a fishing license. You can order those ahead of time via the Alaska Department of Fish and Wildlife's website. Allow at least 30 days and preferably 60 days for your license to arrive. You can find fishing licenses locally too.

Getting to Homer, Alaska is fairly easy. It takes about 4-5 hours to drive there from Anchorage and the drive is easy. You can also fly into Homer via a connection from Anchorage.

The fishing here is unreal. You can literally catch halibut off of the beach, but usually not the big ones. The local waters are full of Salmon, Halibut and Rock Fish. The big Ling Cod are amazing and if you limit out on Halibut, you can target Rock Fish such as big Snapper, Bass, and Ling Cod. The season here is open from May'“September and Early - May and June is prime King Salmon time. The Halibut are available year-round.
