Getting here is easy as they are just off of Alaska Highway 3, 21 miles before you get to Denali National Park.
Fishing with Fish Denali
Rainbow Trout in Alaska tend to grow much larger than the trout in the lower 48 states. This is because of the huge number of salmon that spawn in the local rivers. All that roe becomes a prime food source for the Trout which then grow to be huge. In addition, there are lots of aquatic insects here, so the Trout have a year-round supply of great food.
Arctic Grayling are also known as the Sail Fins of the North as they have a high dorsal fin. These are small, smart fish that usually weigh less than three pounds, but they are crazy about dry flies. If you dial them in you can fish for them all day long.
If you choose a multi-day trip be sure to bring your own food and you will need to purchase your fishing license online. Overall, expect quality guides, good fishing, beautiful country, and the opportunity to fish in the shadow of Mt. Denali.
