Fishing with Fisherman's Choice Charters
Here, they focus on Trophy Salmon fishing and Trophy Rainbow Trout fishing. The charter is very kid friendly, and they take the time to teach you how to fish, and they offer 1:1 guiding as an option.
The best time to target King Salmon on the Little Susitna River begins in Mid-May. It is an easy 90- minute drive from Anchorage.
The best time to target King Salmon on the Deshka River is early May through June. This is a great river to also target Rainbow Trout
The best time to target King Salmon on the Talkeetna River is early June.
All three rivers boast large runs of Salmon, and the Little Susitna River and Deshka River have good runs of Silver Salmon too. The Talkeetna River offers plenty of Chum Salmon which are a close second to Silver Salmon for fight, and they tend to grow much larger than Silvers.
Overall, expect outstanding fishing opportunities, professional guides, and some beautiful country. The Fisherman's Choice Charters has won the Mat-Su Valley's Best Fishing Charter 16 times since 2000. There is a reason for that kind of success.
