The Fishtale River Guides serves the Anchorage and Wasilla, Alaska area and offers guided Salmon, Trout, and Char fishing on the Little Susitna River and Deshka River. The Fishtale River Guides is open year round, and during the colder winter months, they are your best bet for Ice Fishing in Alaska.
Fishing with the Fishtale River Guides
King Salmon Fishing: The best time to visit for King Salmon is the last week of May through the first week of July. Though Kings are usually available during all of May the hottest month to fish them is June.
Sockeye Fishing: The best time to fish for Sockeye is the last week of July and the first two weeks of August. Sockeye are available from the last week in May through the end of August.
Silver Salmon Fishing: The hot time for Silvers is the last week of July through the middle of September. Silvers start to appear as early as the first week of July, and they are typically around through the end of September.
Chum Salmon Fishing: The best time to fish for Chum Salmon is from July through the first week of August. Chum are feisty fish like Silvers, and they can get big - in the 20-30 pound range.
Amid all of the Salmon are big Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden. These are outstanding fish to target both in summer and for winter ice fishing. There is also an option to target Winter King Salmon in the Mat-Su Valley Lakes. If you want to fish year round, then this is the guiding service to help you do just that.
