The calm waters around Juneau offer some of the world's best sportsfishing options and Juneau Sportfishing can turn your fishing trip to Juneau into an Alaskan Fishing Trip of a Lifetime.

The Fishing

Juneau is a popular cruise ship port and thousands of people show up here each season to fish these prolific waters. This is the Inside Passage and the sheltered waters are a haven for Salmon and Bottom Fish. The many islands and calmer waters attract bait fish by the schools and those little fish feed the Salmon and Bottom Fish.  As such, fishers here have access to King Salmon, Silver Salmon, Chum Salmon, Pink Salmon and a hoard of bottom fish including snappers, goldeneye, and Ling Cod.

A note about Chum Salmon - They are square in the middle between a King Salmon and a Silver. They grow much larger than Silvers, and they fight more vigorously than do the kings. They make an excellent sporting fish to target.  Also, in terms of Bottom Fish, the Ling Cod are quite large and powerful. They can grow to 60 or more inches and are much  akin to battling a big Northern Pike. Lots of energy and aggression.  In short, the fishing here is amazing and Juneau Sportsfishing is the charter that can make this all happen for you.

Fishing with Juneau Sportsfishing

Juneau Sportsfishing is local and well-established. They have five 30-ft Bayliner boats designed for fishing in Alaska. Each boat features a covered cabin, a private bathroom, and seating inside with a table for refreshments. They can manage a maximum of 6 people per boat, which is what their Coastguard regulations demand. They include all of the fishing gear needed for battling big Salmon and Ling Cod, and they ask that each fisher bring their own rain gear. Alaska can be wet in the summer. They also pick you up and drop you off as part of the trips.

In addition to fishing you will likely see Whales and other aquatic wildlife and if you are lucky, you might see bears along the shore.

You will also need an Alaskan Fishing License

Overall, expect a ton of opportunities to battle big Trophy Salmon and Bottom Fish. Expect, also, clean and well-equipped boats with a professional crew and captain.
