The Kingfisher Charters & Lodge sits in the Southeast of Alaska along the eastern edge of the Bay of Alaska in the town of Sitka, Alaska. This is prime fishing country, and Sitka is one of the best places to fish for Salmon and Halibut. The Kingfisher Lodge is built to allow guests to sit and take in the beauty and wonder of Alaska. When you are relaxing after a thrilling day of fishing, you can just sit and be amazed by the bear, eagles and other wildlife. You can enjoy the splendor of the forests and the mountains that loom up in the distance. The lodge itself was carefully designed to offer guests every creature comfort possible. The rooms all have private baths and living rooms with full kitchens. The food is heavenly, and the staff is well prepared to make you happy. From appetizers to fine wines the Kingfisher Lodge is quality lodging fit for a king.

The advantage that Kingfisher Charter & Lodge offers is their mastery of the weather. The weather in Alaska is highly unpredictable and usually that means sitting in the lodge watching the ocean and dreaming about fishing. That is not a reality at Kingfishers Chargers & Lodge. They know the area so well that when the waves and wind pick up, and many other lodges or charters have guests sitting in the lounge, the Kingfisher Charter guests are fishing. They know where the quiet bays are that offer protection from the wind and the rough water. They know where the fish are, and that is one of the primary reasons that this lodge is so well known.

Fishing for Salmon in Sitka, Alaska

Sitka is also home to King Salmon, and these can also be monsters. Kings are often caught with bait while trolling. That can also mean flashers and large spoons. While the King Salmon is plentiful, the Silver Salmon are the ones that amaze fishermen. They are smaller than the Kings, but they fight like mad. These Silver Salmon strike so hard that you might have to check your shorts when you get back to the lodge. There are Pink and Chum Salmon around too. Chum Salmon are amazingly good to eat.

Kingfisher Charter & Lodge is a class operation. They know the craft of hosting fishermen very well. The lodge is comfortable, and the guides are amazingly adept and making your fishing adventure come alive. Enjoy the hospitality, fine dining, and the amazing fishing at Kingfisher Charters & Lodge.

Pacific Halibut Up to 500 Pounds

The Gulf of Alaska offers a very short continental shelf as compared to the shallow waters around Bristol Bay. This means that the massive Pacific Halibut come up from the deeper water to bask in the warmer shallows along the shelf. This is where you come to find a 100-500 pound Pacific Halibut, and that is what your target will be as you fish the waters around Sitka with Kingfisher Charters. Expect bait fishing for Halibut either from an anchored boat or by trolling. Halibut love Salmon especially the leftovers like the head.
