Fishing with Kodiak Wilderness Adventures

Lucky anglers come to Kodiak Island because this is a focal point for bit Pacific Halibut and Chrome bright Salmon. The local area is a sheltered cove and that means good opportunities for both Salmon and Halibut. This is a an excellent place for King Salmon fishing and the lodge provides high-quality gear so that you have all of the tools you need to make your fishing adventure one of memories.

The best time to come begins in June where the Sockeye or Red Salmon begin to fill the coves and inlets as they get ready to head upstream to spawn. Reds run to six pounds on average. June is also an excellent time to target King Salmon. King Fishing is great in July as the bigger fish show up to dine on the bait fish. Expect the average King to weigh 20-25 pounds. Later in July and into August becomes a prime time for Silver Salmon. When you tire of Salmon fishing the Rockfish and Halibut are waiting. Both are available in peak-run throughout the summer.
