Rainbow King Lodge is located on the shores of Lake Iliamna in southwest Alaska, at the north end of the Alaska Peninsula. The Lake Iliamna region is a premier trophy fishing area where great catches are a daily occurrence. It's also home to a rare population of freshwater seals, and abundant opportunities for viewing bears and other wildlife. With a one-to-two guide ratio and one-to-one staff ratio, Rainbow King Lodge offers a superb, unparalleled level of service. While most fishing involves fly fishing for Rainbow Trout and Silver Salmon, you can chase a myriad of fish by a variety of methods, including all five species of Pacific Salmon, Arctic Char, Arctic Grayling, and Halibut. While at least one of the salmon species will be available at all times of the season, the best overlap occurs from mid-to-late July. Rainbow Trout are also available throughout the season, but are largest and most plentiful in June and mid-August through September. Arctic Grayling stocks are always excellent, as are the Arctic Char and Northern Pike.

Each day you'll be flown out in one of our three aircraft to the best-producing streams in the area for the fishing of your choice.

Veteran fishing guides will navigate to these world-class fishing holes, assist with equipment, and coach you on technique. You can also take advantage of a unique opportunity to visit two major archeological sites on one of the private leases located just minutes from the lodge.
