Reel Action Alaska Lodge is located in the Southwestern coastal region of Alaska and sits within the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge. This is a camp lodge and guests are roomed in single room tent cabins, one fisherman to a cabin. It's rustic, basic, comfortable living with up-scale food and outstanding fishing.

The Kanektok Fishery is the Chosen River for Fly Fishing

Kanektok Fishery - which means chosen river is just that. This is a place where nature has conspired to create a fishery that every fly fishermen will dream of for years. The camp sits near the mouth of the Kanektok River which is the gateway to spawning grounds for all five species of salmon. Where there are salmon, there are Rainbow Trout and other outstanding fighters. Throughout the summer and into the fall each species of salmon makes its way up the Kanektok river to its spawning grounds. Each season guests are presented with some of the biggest salmon runs in all of Alaska. We are talking the mighty King Salmon which can top 100 pounds. Because salmon do not eat when they get into freshwater, the camp's location is perfect. You are just a mile from the saltwater, and that means that salmon are eager to strike their last meal before they get too far into freshwater. The Sliver Salmon here are fighters that breach the water.

The Fish, The River and the Fishermen

Salmon opportunities abound here with monster sized fish such as the King Salmon. Where you have salmon, you have rainbow trout too. Along the shores of the Kanektok River, you have the opportunity to fish for trophy sized rainbows between 10-18 pounds. Another fish that many people have not experienced is the Dolly Varden. This is a cousin to both the Rainbow Trout and the Salmon. These brightly spotted fish can get huge, and they fight like rainbows. Also in the water are some fish that are more challenging. The Arctic Grayling and the Arctic Char are smaller fish with plenty of fight and make the perfect target for both new fishermen and veterans. The fishing action here is insane. Be prepared to want to stay.
