Reel 'Em Inn - Cook Inlet Charters focuses on quality saltwater fishing charters for Salmon and Halibut and have nearly 30 years worth of experience in making visitors and guests fishing dreams come true.
Fishing with Reel 'Em Inn
Ninilchik is a smaller Alaskan town that sits along the shores of Cook Inlet and offers a very central spot from which guests can enjoy all of the Kenai Peninsula. The fishing here is unreal and that is because of the healthy and bountiful fishing cycle that occurs in Cook Inlet. The shallower and calmer waters - though it is both deep and rough at times - is a perfect haven for baitfish which draw in both the Halibut and the Salmon.
You have access to King Salmon, Steelhead, Silver Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Chum Salmon, and Pink Salmon as well as big Halibut and trophy-sized Rockfish.
The key to successful Halibut fishing is to understand how the tidal flow impacts the fish. Halibut hunt at specific times of the tide and as such, the charter runs on a tide schedule rather than on a time schedule. Most trips are 6-8 hours in duration because when the tide changes, the Halibut change too.
The Salmon are plentiful here for a variety of reasons. Cook Inlet is full of a baitfish and they can feed and fatten up before heading upstream. Plus, you have many rivers that open up into the inlet right here - the Kenai and Ninilchik Rivers are two prime examples and the Salmon group here as they prepare to run the rivers to spawn.
