Fishing with the Silver Fox Charters
There is a secret to fishing for big Halibut regardless of where you fish. That secret is that it takes time to find the big fish. Halibut are not schooling fish they are singular predators that lay along the ocean floor and wait for a meal. You can troll for Halibut which is what many charters do, or you can chum for them which is also effective. The take away here is that if you want to fish for big, Trophy Halibut, you'd best plan on a full day charter and pick one that has the experience to help you with that goal.
Cook Inlet and is known for big fish, but many people are surprised by the size of Rock Fish. Ling Cod are long and lean and if you target them be ready for a surprise. They are huge. Some are more than 4-feet in length. There is a lot of press about big Halibut and big King Salmon, but Ling Cod are just as exciting to fish.
Silver Fox Charters has a large fleet of vessels that range from 30 foot to 56 foot. They use top equipment that is always in good repair, and their boats are designed with comfort in mind, especially for 8-10 hour fishing days.
Overall, expect professional charters, quality equipment and plenty of fishing. They will also help with lodging if you need. Just check in with them when you book your charter.
