The Skagway Fishing Charters offers outstanding Salmon Charters just North of Juneau and below the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site. The Taiya Inlet is a wide and sheltered body of water that runs pretty much from the Chilkoot Inlet at Haines all the way to Skagway. These are prime fishing waters for Salmon as they make their way up the inlet to their ancestral rivers and streams to spawn. That is why these quiet waters offer such outstanding fishing.
Fishing with Skagway Fishing Charters
One of the nice things about fishing here is that the fishing grounds begin near shore. Most people are fishing within 15 minutes of getting on the boat. The boat, which is named, the Yukon, is 36-feet long and offers the comfort of an inside cabin which also features a full rest room too. The boat offers full modern fishing equipment including electronic downriggers which help to get your line down where the Salmon are. The inlet is deep and with depths past 130 feet. The Salmon use the entire water column, and the electronics on board the Yukon help you locate the fish and then position your line at the right depth. The outfit and electronics make fishing for big King Salmon easier which is one reason why so many people have the fishing trip of their lives with the Skagway Fishing Charters.
Overall, expect plenty of good fishing, an experienced crew, and a lot of hospitality.
