Tanaku Lodge sits on Chicagof Island along the Elfin Cove across the Cross Sound from Glacier Bay National Park. The area is protected even though the Gulf of Alaska is nearby.

Guests are housed in the main lodge and private cabins. The complex holds up to 25 guests at a time. The rooms are comfortably equipped with full and twin sized beds. The common area is furnished with plush sitting areas and full windows that offer a panoramic view. This is paradise.

Fishing with the Tanaku Lodge

Guests have access to some of the most diverse fishing waters around. This is Halibut country, and the Inside Passage is where the salmon gather to feed and fatten up. Where there are Salmon, the Halibut are not far behind The two have a love-hate relationship. The Halibut love to eat the smaller Salmon and the Salmon hate the Halibut for doing that. Either way, that relationship makes for some outstanding fishing.

Expect to experience Halibut in the 20-50 pound range with plenty of opportunities to land a Halibut in the 50-200-pound range. The Salmon fishing here is excellent too. The local area is home to King Salmon, Silver Salmon, and Pink Salmon. There is even freshwater fishing for Silver and Pink Salmon as well as for Dolly Varden and Cutthroat Trout. The success of most Alaskan fishing Trips is due to the quality of the guides, and Tanaku Lodge has the best quality guides around. Expect well seasoned and knowledgeable fishing captains with a proven history of helping guests enjoy the fishing trip of their life.
