Fishing with The Alaska Catch
The key with The Alaska Catch charters is their ability to customize charters to fit your fishing experience. They offer reservations for 1-6 guests per boat and either four- or six-hour fishing adventures. If you want to fish for Halibut, you will need to make a six-hour reservation.
Ketchikan sits between Gravina Island and Revillagigedo Island and along the Inside Passage. These quiet and calm waters attract small fish such as herring which are a primary food source for Salmon. That is one of the reasons why Salmon fishing here is so intense. There is a lot of food, and that means there is a lot of Salmon. The other plus for all of these bait fish is that they also attract the Halibut. Chickens, which are Halibut less than 100 pounds thrive in these calm waters. As bottom dwelling fish, Halibut lurk until they spot prey. Halibut also love Salmon and where you find both Salmon and bait fish, you will fine Halibut of all sizes.
The waters around Ketchikan are calm and full of fish and aquatic wildlife. If you are looking for an outstanding fishing adventure, this is a great charter to consider. They work with families too.
