Fishing with Alaska Ocean Pros
Homer is an amazing fishing destination. The waters here are rich with big Halibut and millions of Salmon. On one side, you have Cook Inlet which fills up with Salmon waiting to enter fabled rivers like the Kenai. On the other side, you have Kachemak Bay with legendary places like Halibut Cove. These areas offer sheltered waters where Salmon and Halibut come to feed on the smolt and bait fish that school here.
Alaska Ocean Pros offers short range Halibut fishing and Long range Halibut Fishing. They also offer combo trips that target both Salmon and Halibut. If you want to hit the big Barn Door Halibut - those over 100 pounds, then consider a long range charter. The Short range charters offer plenty of fishing, but you mostly catch are small Halibut. Currently, there is a 4-Halibut per year limit per person and two Halibut per day limit per person in Homer. It is well worth it to invest in the Long-range trip for big Halibut.
Expect professional-grade boats, top-shelf gear, certified and licensed captains and guides. Also, expect to catch a lot of fish here.
